Grand Flexible Band and the evening of new works by Jukka Iisakkila!
The Finnish conductor-instrumentalist-composer Jukka Iisakkila’s works for the upcoming new album are dedicated to friends. The colourful, powerful expression of the works is provided by the Grand Flexible Band.
Jukka’s versatility and broad repertoire have taken him to symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras, contemporary ensembles, rock arenas and innovative music clubs throughout Europe and overseas.
His international collaborations span from Iro Haarla and Trygve Seim to Helmut Lachenmann, Indians to Swiss metal band Triptycon, symphony orchestras to his regular partner the Metropole Orchestra and a special relationship and ongoing collaboration with composer/guitarist Steve Vai.
He has recorded for various international labels such as Sony / Legacy Recordings, ECM, Dacapo, Favoured Nations, Century Media Records, Pilfink, Apart Records, Pilfink and Eclipse Music. His recording company for solo recordings is Eclipse Music.
This G Livelab concert will be recorded for an upcoming live album release.
In collaboration with the Tampere Guitar Festival.
