Corb Lund on Kanadan isoimpia americana-lauluntekijöitä. Kymmeniä palkintoja ja useamman Grand Ole Opry -esiintymisen urallaan saavuttanut Lund on Albertan maaseudulta, Kalliovuorten juurelta kotoisin ja hänen suvullaan on pitkät perinteet karjataloudessa ja rodeossa. Lauluntekijän musiikki liikkuu rehellisen uteliaasti outlaw countryn, westernin ja indie-folkin välillä.
Hayes Carllilla on takanaan yli kahden vuosikymmenen mittainen menestyksekäs ura. Pitchfork- ja New York Times -lehtien ylistys – jälkimmäinen vertasi Carllin kykyä käsitellä vaikeita aiheita ironisella huumorilla Bob Dylaniin – ovat vain osa ansioluetteloa, johon kuuluu myös lukuisia Americana Music Awards -palkintoja sekä Grammy-ehdokkuus vuoden parhaasta country-kappaleesta. A rural Albertan hailing from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with a long family lineage of ranchers and rodeo people, Corb Lund is about as authentic as they come, and equally as hard to define. The western Canadian singer-songwriter is an elusive artist — onstage, offstage, and in the studio — seamlessly weaving between the outlaw country, Western, and indie-folk realms with an honest curiosity and rowdy devotion to each. Lund has won multiple Canadian Country Music Awards and made his debut at the historic Grand Ole Opry.
Hayes Carll is more than two decades into a celebrated career. Praise from places such as Pitchfork and the New York Times––the latter of which yoked Carll’s ability to tackle tough issues with wry humor to Bob Dylan––punctuate a resume that includes Americana Music Awards and a Grammy nomination. His songs aren’t safe, but many of Nashville’s stars have recorded them, including Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack, and Brothers Osborne. As a solo recording artist, Carll has long-since established himself as one of Americana’s most-played––and most loved––voices. His warm but crackling vocals, wit, and heart dance through wordplay that’s always clever, and never too precious. Through it all, whenever Carll points a finger, it’s most often at himself.
