Frankosun and the Family on afrikkalaisten ja suomalaisten muusikoiden yhteenliittymä ja maan kenties laadukkain afrobeat-orkesteri. Beninissa syntyneen ja kasvaneen Oladele Franck Koumoloun luotsaama bändi on ihastuttanut ympäri pohjoismaita vuodesta 2013 alkaen. Frankosun and the Family yhdistelee 1970-80 -lukujen beniniläistä ja nigerialaista afrobeatia afrofunkin ja -rockin aineksiin.
The Shameless Shongololo Bandin sielukas musiikki kumpuaa eteläafrikkalais-suomalaisen laulaja-huilisti Ayla Brinkmannin juurista. Innoittavista artisteista mainittakoon ainakin Miriam Makeba, Brenda Fassie, Letta Mbulu ja Hugh Masekela. Tämän yhdeksänhenkisen orkesterin soundimaailma on Pohjoismaissa omaa luokkaansa. Shongololo-sana tulee xhosan ja zulun kielistä ja tarkoittaa tuhatjalkaista, tuota päättäväistä ja tyylikästä maantien kulkijaa.
Esiintyjien välissä ja heidän jälkeen yleisöä tanssittaa myös legendaarinen DJ Kallio, joka tunnetaan mm. Telakan Soul Power -illoista ja YO-talon kulta-ajoilta.

On February 17th we will see a unique pop-up club smash up happening when G Livelab Tampere will host an unforgettable Friday night full of dance – all alcohol free.
Sober Furious is a Helsinki-based pop up club that hosts high-quality nightclub experiences with delicious mocktails, the best DJs and safer space guidelines – just without any alcohol.
The night is produced in collaboration Hit the Breaks!, which brings rooted music to dance lovers.
Performers:
Frankosun and the Family is a fresh and fine-tuned afrobeat orchestra based in Helsinki, Finland. The band was founded by Oladele Franck Koumolou, who was born in the voodoo heartland - the Republic of Benin. Since 2013, Frankosun and the Family has performed in numerous festivals in the Nordic countries and captured listeners' hearts with their unique style of music. Frankosun and the Family mixes the 1970s and 1980s afrobeat of Benin and Nigeria with relaxed elements of afrofunk and afrorock, echoes of Finnish folk music as well as rhythms from the lead singer’s homeland and the Nago tribe of Benin.
The Shameless Shongololo Band is a transcultural ensemble on a musical journey. Their music comes from the roots of Finnish-South African singer-flutist Ayla Brinkmann and is inspired by artists such as Miriam Makeba, Brenda Fassie, Letta Mbulu and Hugh Masekela. This nine-piece orchestra brings to life a unique sound seldom heard live in Scandinavia.
Between the shows we’ll hear danceable music provided by DJ Kallio.
